Instructor of the Month: Stephanie

Congratulations to our first ever Instructor of the Month, Stephanie!

Stephanie teaches baby massage and baby yoga classes to her local community in north London. She has a thriving business which she plans to grow over time. Here's Stephanie to tell you a little more about her business...
Hello! My name is Stephanie and I run my own business Zen-a-Tots in north London.

What do you teach?

Baby Massage and Baby Yoga courses in London

How long have you been an instructor?

I’ve been teaching for two-and-a-half years. I started off in lockdown via Zoom and now run all face-to-face sessions, which I absolutely love.

What made you want to become an instructor?

I’ve always worked in the childcare sector and have always wanted to work for myself. I’m such a sociable person, and really enjoy making others happy. I also love building relationships with people. I'm very passionate about my classes and business.

Have you always been an instructor?

I’ve been a nanny and worked in nurseries before this.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

Actually teaching the classes to parents and making them feel super happy and comfortable in my sessions. I also love building great relationships with them too. The courses are such a special time for parents and babies; it really helps them bond and connect with their babies. It's so rewarding to see that and also helping them to connect and form relationships with other parents too.

How do you keep your skills up to date?

I watch videos on Youtube; no-one in particular.

What qualities do you think are important in an instructor?

I think being super understanding and welcoming as some parents are feeling anxious about coming to classes. Always make sure you’re warm and make them feel at ease with their babies. Make sure you’re being informative about your classes and what parents are going to be getting from them. And always try to deliver an incredible class too!

Have you learnt anything surprising about baby massage or baby yoga?

How lovely parents and carers are!

What’s your top tip for other instructors?

Keep pushing and keep trying your best to make it work. Always be as informative to parents as you can, as well as super welcoming and relaxed in your sessions!

Who would you most like to teach on one of your courses and why
?

Just all my friends with babies too – as it’s such a special time and so important to me, and so lovely to share that experience with them as well.

What are your plans for the future?

To expand my business and grow it more and add on more classes in the afternoons – as only doing morning at moment, will be doing Thursday afternoons in July.

Thank you Stephanie; that's been really interesting. You can find Stephanie online on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok (website coming soon!)
